Porsche - 924 - 1979

Porsche 924 from 1979. This 924 was originally supplied with a 2.0 four-cylinder engine (only 125 HP) and a 4-speed gearbox. This Porsche is equipped with the improved 944 engine, a 2.5 litre four-cylinder (as was also later used in the 924S) with 163 HP and a 5-speed manual transmission.
This engine has had some modifications compared to a 944 Type 1 engine such as the fuel injection system, oil pump, crankcase, pistons and valves.

The original chassis has also been replaced for the improved chassis of a 944 type 2. This means aluminium wishbones and 5-hole wheel hubs. On the front axle, the brake discs have been replaced for ventilated and perforated discs; on the rear axle, the brake drums have been replaced for brake discs. An enormous improvement regarding the brake system.

The looks of the 924 have been changed to that of a 944. The wheel arches have been extended, side skirts, front wings and rear window with spoiler. Front bumper in the style of the Porsche 924 Carrera GTS.

In the colour ‘Indisch Rot’, the paintwork has signs of age. Imperfections are visible in the pictures. The odometer reading is 67,523 km. The Nationale Auto Pas printout shows the car has done 167,523 km.

Black leather interior. The front seats are in good condition consistent with age, no tears.
The door cards have the sought after Porsche text.

In short: an old 924 equipped with a more powerful engine, improved chassis and a manual 5-speed gearbox.

It has 16-inch honeycomb wheels with good tyres.
Front: 205/55R16 approx. 4.1 and 5.2 mm
Rear: 225/50R16 approx. 6 and 7.2 mm

The Porsche 924 has a recent Dutch periodic vehicle inspection (APK) which is valid until 9-11-2022. It only had one comment when it comes to rust.

A nice classic Porsche that needs a little bit of love.
