Parvati, (Mahadevi) is the second consort of Shiva, hindu God of destruction and renewal. Parvati is considered the reincarnation of Shiva’s prior consort, Sati. She represents unity between man and woman.
Some communities also consider her the full energy reincarnation of the Universe.
Other names are Uma or Gauri, goddess of fertility, love, beauty, marriage, children and devotion, divine strenght and power. Each of Parvati’s aspects give her over 100 names in regional Hindu stories in India.
