The war painter Wilhelm Victor Krausz, born in Neutra in 1878, died in 1959 in Baden near Vienna, studied at the Vienna Academy under Franz Rumpler as well as in Paris and Munich. He spent the years 1915-1917 as a war painter in the Balkans. Most recently residing as a U.S. citizen in New York, he died during a spa stay in Baden near Vienna.
