- The white wine of Sauternes consists of Semillon white, sauvignon blanc, and Muscadelle. The noble rot of the grapes is due to high natural moisture content, allowing during winemaking to keep a residual sugar that makes all the flavour of this great wine. Appreciated at the end of the meal, it is very pleasant however to taste it with foie gras.
