The Tharu are an ethnic group that speaks an Indo-Aryan language, they live principally in the Terai, a meridianal region of Nepal.
The Tharus have several festival, such as Dashin, the largest festival in Nepal. This festival is held each year in the autumn. It's notably the moment with the Tharu wear the tika of blessing, a distinctive red symbol on the forehead that's also worn by married women.
